History of the Inn Current Specials

The home was built by Commodore Charles Bristed Rockwell.

Mr. Rockwell was a commanding figure in the area, an engineer by training and a businessman in manufacturing. He spent two years designing a state of the art home for his family, and another two years building Point Pleasant, completing their home in 1940.

Point Pleasant was formerly the mooring for the famous racing yacht; the Belisarius built in 1935 by Nathaniel Greene Herreshoff, and the last yacht he designed. The Belisarius is now on display at the Herreshoff Museum in Bristol.
